Summary: Donate Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.

Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds

(at the end of the book) I suspect a love triangle for the next book in the series!!! YAY(:
I read an expert of the book a while ago and have been waiting for this for what seems like forever. Kaitlyn is such a strong character. After all shes been through she has the ability to hope, to be herself (even if she doesn’t know who that is), she has emotions. I though their love was a little too fast. It was like as soon as he found out she had emotions and could feel after all they had done to her, he wanted to make out with her.
“You weren’t programmed to want me either, Kate, but here we are. There’s an attraction between us that even science can’t destroy”
Honestly, even though I found their love sweet, I found him annoying. Boy genius falling for his creation. Does that sound creepy to you? He upgrades her making her less and less human. He does it against her will. Grrrr….Lucas, away. -_-
Oh yeah he’s doing it all for her good-but hes also stealing away what she has left of humanity. Bleh.
After this book I have a new appreciation for:

pinky-promises
facial expressions
memories
and just humanity in general

Kaitlyn/Cassidy/Kate is not bitter at all. I love how shes all formal and has no clue what all the slang words mean. It hilarious hearing her trying to figure them out.
